we gave nikki a name.

Well, it's that time! Two weeks ago I announce my very first giveaway, and the prize would be a handwritten letter from me. Isn't that awesome?! I've decided the winners (yes, TWO people won..I couldn't choose just one person) and they BOTH are going to get a handwritten letter from me. So, let's get on with it!
But FIRST, I'd like to thank everyone for entering, and I want everyone to see this lovely cupcake picture I found!!
Yadayadayada trying-to-think-of-ways-to-keep-everyone-in-suspense... and failing miserably...okay, I think I'll just announce the winners.
^^ random but rockin' awesome photo
BUT FIRST, I want to mention some names that I especially loved:
  • Delaney Hart
  • capture l'amour
  • Carliss
  • Mes Yeux
But...there can only be one winner (okay, in this case there are two) and they are *drumroll please*
&
The name I chose from Rachel is "Camara" {which is Spanish for "Camera"} and the name I chose from Liz is "Jade". I just thought to two would go wonderfully together! Don't you think so? I'm so excited. Well, you two ladies are going to each get a handwritten letter from me. I will contact you both and hopefully the letters should be there before the end of next week. I'll have to hurry {since I'm going to camp on Monday} and hopefully everything will be sent before then. And yes, I hope you're stoked.
I'm now off to convince my dad to go to the grocery store and buy ingredients for Apple & Pear Crisp so Sandra and I can make it. Wish me luck! Congrats to the winners!

paint me a picture

Everyone morning I've signed onto Blogger and read each post that I missed in the time that I was sleeping, or just didn't get a chance to read, period. Atleast once every single day, I come across a blog I've never seen before. It either gets me jumping on top of the couch screaming or just simply thinking "this is really cool!" I want to read a blog that I'm drawn to. Like when I open a book and read the first chapter, I want to be intrigued. I want to be able to have the desire to know more.
I want to be drawn to the things you say. I want to be inspired by your rants, your ramblings, and your writings. I don't want to be torn away from the picture you're trying to paint.
And when I think about it, it is almost like painting a picture.
Your paintbrush is the pencil, your canvas the paper, and your paint is simply what's inside of your mind. You let it out in whatever way you choose, and the painting is finished, and framed and hung so everyone can see. When people see it, they are drawn to it.
When I come across a new blog, I see the canvas they have chosen, the the paintbrush they've used, and the paint, and I decided whether or not it brings me in, or causes me to want to know more. Most of the time, the answer is yes.
To all those out there who have had an impact on my life {no matter how big, or small}:
The picture you painted is absolutely breathtaking. It's spectacular, and it's inspired me to paint a picture just like it. I'm not a professional at this, but one day, my art will be complete, and I just want to give you a token of my gratitude.
So right now, my sister has earplugs in her ears, jamming to Lady Antebellum's "Just A Kiss", I'm snuggling up in my favorite sweater because it's freezing in my house, and I'm getting out my paintbrushes and canvas, and I'm going to work on my picture some more.
P.S. My friend Raven and her sister Amber have each just started blogging {and I designed their blogs!} and would really appreciate some comments and followers. So, please be a dear and head on over there :)

because i'm awkwardly awesome like that

So, my mom is watching "The Voice" and Adam and this other guy who's name I don't know come out on stage and sing a Michael Jackson song. Well, my mom being....my mom, she yells: "IT'S MICHAEL JACKSON!!!!" and I bound down the stairs to listen. It turns out, I've never heard that song. But I can pull it off, because I'm awkwardly awesome like that.
And now, thanks to Dia Frampton from "The Voice" (whom I love, actually. She's such a sweet, modest girl {and reminds me of Jessica Alba}) I want to write an original song, kinda like hers. Piano ballad...soft and meaningful, and something that really expresses me.
I was going to post my White Chocolate Mousse post today, but when I made the rest of it I ate it all before I could begin my food photoshoot. Because I'm awkward and STUPID like that.

I can also post a picture of something that has really nothing to do with the paragraph above and pull it off because I'm awkwardly awesome like that.
You know, for some reason, I'm missing William Moseley. I kinda had a very sentimental dream about him last night and I'm still in tears and I need those strong arms around me again that I've actually never felt..it's so sad but hey! It makes a great song ;) :P Because I'm awkwardly awesomely random and in love like that.
Oh, by the way, this is for Mary:

Mary, dear, he's yours, but honestly, on Tumblr my mouse button is stuck on Reblog, and I'm totally fine with that. Because I'm awkwardly awesome and totally fine with that.
Yeah. So at the end of the day I'm awkwardly-awesome-stupid-random-in love-and-totally-fine-with-that. Because I'm awesome like that.
What are you awkwardly awesome at with your own little hyphens to? I'd love to hear them ;)
Love you, dearies. Nighty night :))

i miss you, even though i haven't met you

Oh, Peter, Darling, it's been a long time, hasn't it? I've been a really bad girl, neglecting you like I have. But I here to make up for it, see? I'm here to make up for all those times I didn't get to hear your perfectly deep voice whisper, "Goodnight, beautiful," in that indescribably alluring British accent.
So, to make up but for neglecting-ness, this post is going to be entirely filled of pictures of the love of my life, my husband, and my High King of Narnia.
I don't know whose hand that is, but he looks soooooo serious and ssosoooo beautiful.
Look at how wistfully he's looking into the distance...wow...
*flipping out*
Yes, I know, still the same old pictures, but I've literally seen everything. I need more new pictures of him that DON'T include him with that weird insane hippie long hair. *ahem* Excuse me, dear. ANYWAY...
It's been a really long time since I've done a plain old fangirl post, and I'm redeeming myself. Am I a good girl again?
Yes. I think so.

a few changes

I just got home from a *rather* busy day. FIRST, I went to my sister's swim meet (and played with my bestie Morgan!! She's the most adorable 1yr & 3mos old girl I've ever met. She has the most GORGEOUS blue eyes)  and then went to Freddy's burgers with the team afterwards, THEN went home to make a cake AND some white chocolate mousse for my grandma's house tomorrow (Sandra helped me make it. It's a wonder there's still enough to eat tomorrow!!) and THEN we played around with meringue and THEN we went to church for my youth fellowship and set up and THEN we ate pizza and saw a movie. Well wasn't that a day?
(this is mousse by the way, in case you didn't notice :P)
ANYWAY, I want to get to the "a few changes" part of this post.
At our youth fellowship, the movie we saw was called "To Save A Life". Now, with us being teenagers, we expected something new like Inception, or X-Men or something, but instead, our youth pastor gives us a movie that we haven't even heard of, and some of us maybe thought it was uncool.
Wow. We are such judgers sometimes.
to save a life
some people are just DYING to be heard
"After a childhood friend's death, Jake Taylor, an all-star athlete must change his life - and sacrifice his dreams to save the lives of others."
Now, in the title, it says "some people are just DYING to be heard". Emphasis on the word "DYING".
Jake Taylor is a great basketball player. He has a scholarship to Louisville in his hands, the place where he's dreamed of playing since childhood. He's got a girlfriend, and doesn't make the best grades in the world, and suddenly he ends up at a funeral for his childhood friend, Roger, who has commit suicide.
It was all so unexpected...so...uncalled for. Jake grew up with Roger. Roger pushed Jake out of the way of a moving car and saved his life, eventually resulting in a permanent injury. Roger had a limp. And because of that, people started picking on him. He didn't really mind that much, I mean, he had Jake as his friend. But then...things were different.
Freshman year of high school. Jake's basketball team had just won one of their big games. There's a party afterwards, and Amy Briggs, the cute, blonde captain of the cheer team, asks Jake to go along. Now, Jake has already made plans to hang out with Roger at his mom's house. So he asks Amy if Roger can come along. Her response is "Um...we only have room for one more in the car, so..." You can guess what Jake does next.
The last time Jake and Roger spoke was three years ago. Roger knows everything that's happening in Jake's life. He's dating Amy now, and he's up for the basketball scholarship at Louisville. But what Jake knows of Roger? Nothing. Not anymore.
Roger's getting picked on because of his limp. He feels so alone, that he could scream at the top of his lungs, and people won't hear him. So...Senior Year. He takes a gun to school, and fires three shots at the ceiling in the middle of the hallway. Everyone crouches down, and they stare at him. It's the first time Roger's been noticed in three years. Jake runs to the scene. "Roger, what are you doing?" He asks. "It's too late, Taylor," Roger replies, and he takes his own life, right before everyone's eyes.
No one knows why Roger did it, but after he commit his suicide, several unexpected things start to take place in Jake's life.

That's a basic synopsis of what happens in the movie, but I HIGHLY recommend  it for teenagers. It will open your eyes to things that you couldn't even imagine, and the bubble that you live in, with always smiling faces and perfectly iced cupcakes (yes, I said it) will be popped. But you know, maybe that's a good thing.

  • rated: PG-13, but it's worth it, all the way.
  • language: A few D-words, and some A-words, and even one S-word, but not the S-word that you think.
  • anything else: There's one quick sex scene near the beginning between Jake and Amy. It's not worth seeing, so I fast forwarded through it.
  • overall rating: Infinity out of five stars.
After seeing this movie....I was so touched, and so inspired....so, I'm going to be making a few changes:
  1. My makeup blog series will be put on hold until further notice. I mean, I'm not going to quit on it completely, but I just think it'll be better that way, so I can focus on a new blog series.
  2. I'm going to change my youth blog name to "Make A Revelation" or "How To Save A Life".
  3. My new blog series is going to be called "dear society", and I would like it to be filled with guest posts from YOU GUYS (especially if you're a teenage blogger) and I want you to talk about some of the things that you see or experience as a teenager, or some things you can reflect on while you were a teenager. At the end, I'd like you to name something in society that you don't approve of, and a way we can help change that {example: How society states you have to do drugs and hang out with the troublemakers to be cool, how the girls have to be 98lbs, and 6ft tall to fit in, etc}.
I'm going to be having alot of fun with this. I want you guys to have fun too!! So, comment if you want to guest post, and please, WATCH THIS MOVIE. It will sincerely change your life.
Until flying cars are invented....
P.S. The White Chocolate Mousse turned out SPLENDIDLY!! My family LOVED it. Sandra and I feel some recipe posts coming on..*enter suspense*

c'est la vie

I have an awesome and stimulating post planned for you. I was going to do it today, but laziness and procrastination won that bet. See why I'm now "le lazy blogger"?
Well, c'est la vie.
I love this picture by the way:
And this one:
Sigh...Look at my baby! Okay, I'm done :P Nighty night, dearhearts :)

le lazy blogger

1. I was supposed to blog about this yesterday. Hence the post title. You don't believe? Fine. Don't take my word for it:
take hers. She is just too funny, by the way.
2. Don't random/out-of-the-blue/totally uncalled for cupcake pictures cover up a multitude of le lazy blogger days?
3. To be perfectly honest with you guys, I have absolutely no idea why I'm numbering things in this post. Also, the pictures I'm posting don't really correspond with anything...
4. I'm going to camp the week of July 4th and I need seven guest posters for that Monday-Sunday. Any volunteers? Pretty please?! I know you can't resist this:
5. this post is going absolutely nowhere. Sorry, guys :/
6. My grandma, sister and I went shopping for new sundresses yesterday! You think I should do a fashion post?
7. My friend has this totally-rockin' awesome-like-OhMiGosh t-shirt and I have to share it with you. So, I'm going to leave you with this:
The first person who gets this joke gets virtual tea and scones. And a rainy day, and a candle. And a book.
Yeah, that's it.

playing around with...

001. Polyvore
hello summer
002.  My camera :)
This is the cherry from the ice cream sundae I had...on Sunday (lol) at my grandma's house. She has these *adorable* vintage glasses that I used and it's just lovely.
Yes, that's my hand on the side, there. The wind was blowing and I had to hold this lovely wildflower up :)
This picture was an honor to take. The sun was just about to set, and the sky was the perfect shade of baby blue and turquoise that meshed together in the middle..and this plant just happened to be right there.
This is Lizzy. She's one of my best friends, and just happens to be one and a half. She's the most precious thing ever, and I'm so proud of myself for getting a shot of her while she stood still ;P
This picture is completely unedited...'nuff said.
003. GIF's.
I made my first one today:
7PreYN on Make A Gif, Animated Gifs
My dad brought home a cupcake from some random meeting he had....*sigh* I just love random cupcakes...with even randomer teapots in the background ;)
What have YOU (ha, didn't expect that, didya'?)  been playing around with lately?
