snowing at last.

in central texas, around the time you stop wishing for snow is the time you actually get it. and even so, it wasn't much. little pellets of ice hit the windows on thursday night and the driveway look like pound cake dusted with confectioner's sugar. by the time i woke up on friday morning, most everything melted, but the evidence still remained. (it's saturday afternoon and there's still snow in the crevices of rooftops.) winter air bites, you know. it smells like summer barbecues but feels like something else entirely. there's not much forgiveness in the cold, but i don't think there's any bitterness, either. i spent less than ten minutes out there, crouching uncomfortably, look for abundances of white.
and i realized, it doesn't matter to me as much anymore.

but here, snow is nice. while it lasts.
