i hope this gets to you.

i cleared out the second shelf of my armoire today. apparently, that's where i kept all of the letters/parcels/gifts my [blogger] friends sent me over the years. there was so much tea and so many drawings and notes and smiles that i had to remind myself not to cry. and i felt bad for not doing anything just as wonderful. daddy has a job now so he comes home at around four o clock. he checked the post and put abbey's letter on the table.
i guess that was the motivation i needed to do something kind for all the people who have been kind to me, so here goes the thing.

i'm having a giveaway.
a Rafflecopter giveaway

  1. You know, I normally like sending funny pictures I find to my penpals. Also tea. A lot of random teas that I like :p

  2. I love to see a letter. A story about their day, words in their different forms, quotes, poetry, a verse. things like that.

  3. letters are the best. we all need some more notes etched with handwritten love in our lives. something about it just brightens your day.

  4. oh hey, guess i should answer the question. ;)

i just love little things that are unique and special to the person sending the letter. like, don't send me some cheesy, manufactured piece of paper with an overused motivational quote because you feel like you have to. send me a leaf from the big tree in your backyard. send me an enveloped drenched with the perfume you wore on the night he kissed you goodnight (because goodness gracious, Lord knows girls love to get giddy over that kind of stuff). send me a baked treat just because. whatever you do, do it from the heart, and do it because it's YOU.

  7. i would love a letter from you sweet lady. :) happy to hear your dad has a job now. i most definitely know exactly what that's like. my dad was a laid off engineer for nearly two years and then had contract jobs until he started working at the place he's at now. :)

  11. Those photos are absolutely gorgeous! The processing is amazing, Jocee! As for what I like to find in letters, I really like when my penpals add little quotes or photos. It adds so much to a letter when you find lots of little tidbits upon opening it.

  12. I like getting snail mail with tiny little trinkets, ribbon, famous sayings, words with meaning. thoughtful things basically.

  13. Gosh, I haven't sent a letter in forever. But I used to do penpal-ing, and no matter what trinkets or specially-designed cards I got, my favorite part was reading the letter. I also find that there's something distinct and special about people's handwriting.

  16. Jocee! <3 I hope the letter i sent you was one of the ones that made you smile. ;)
I love anything in letters: drawings, tea, leaves, souvenirs, paint chips, dried flowers, photos, poems, stories, feathers. But the things that mean the most to me that i keep forever are the things that reflect the person sending me the letter. If what you send me means something you then i will love it even more, because penpals are about making close friends, and if what you send me is personal then its as if you've given a little piece of youself to me so even though we have never met/may never meet {although i hope we will!} we feel like we know each and have a connection no matter how many miles away from each other we are.
P.s whoever sent you that letter, I WANT THEIR HANDWRITING PLEASE AND THANK YOU. ;D

  23. I would just want something in a letter that isn't something cheesy, I would want something that was sincerely from you! something that you feel would be something for a person to receive. Something that could give a boost of confidence, something from the bottom of your heart. <3
