i cleared out the second shelf of my armoire today. apparently, that's where i kept all of the letters/parcels/gifts my [blogger] friends sent me over the years. there was so much tea and so many drawings and notes and smiles that i had to remind myself not to cry. and i felt bad for not doing anything just as wonderful. daddy has a job now so he comes home at around four o clock. he checked the post and put abbey's letter on the table.
i guess that was the motivation i needed to do something kind for all the people who have been kind to me, so here goes the thing.
i'm having a giveaway.

-kiss kiss kiss, be my penpal-

I love getting quotes :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I normally like sending funny pictures I find to my penpals. Also tea. A lot of random teas that I like :p
ReplyDeleteI love to see a letter. A story about their day, words in their different forms, quotes, poetry, a verse. things like that.
ReplyDeleteletters are the best. we all need some more notes etched with handwritten love in our lives. something about it just brightens your day.
ReplyDeleteoh hey, guess i should answer the question. ;)
ReplyDeletei just love little things that are unique and special to the person sending the letter. like, don't send me some cheesy, manufactured piece of paper with an overused motivational quote because you feel like you have to. send me a leaf from the big tree in your backyard. send me an enveloped drenched with the perfume you wore on the night he kissed you goodnight (because goodness gracious, Lord knows girls love to get giddy over that kind of stuff). send me a baked treat just because. whatever you do, do it from the heart, and do it because it's YOU.
I'm definitely not picky about what people send me in letters. I love anything and everything. xo
ReplyDeleteI like the little things. The thing that means something to you.
ReplyDeletei would love a letter from you sweet lady. :) happy to hear your dad has a job now. i most definitely know exactly what that's like. my dad was a laid off engineer for nearly two years and then had contract jobs until he started working at the place he's at now. :)
ReplyDeletedidn't open to see what the question was. ;) i love letters that are story filled, quotes are faves, things i can't find where i live, and trying different teas. :)
ReplyDeleteanything special. :)
ReplyDeleteanything. letters, leaves, scraps of paper with quotes. bits of life from the writer. :)
ReplyDeleteand even if i don't win, i would love to send letters back and forth. even notes. 'cause you're someone special. <3
ReplyDeleteThose photos are absolutely gorgeous! The processing is amazing, Jocee! As for what I like to find in letters, I really like when my penpals add little quotes or photos. It adds so much to a letter when you find lots of little tidbits upon opening it.
ReplyDeleteI like getting snail mail with tiny little trinkets, ribbon, famous sayings, words with meaning. thoughtful things basically.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I haven't sent a letter in forever. But I used to do penpal-ing, and no matter what trinkets or specially-designed cards I got, my favorite part was reading the letter. I also find that there's something distinct and special about people's handwriting.
ReplyDeleteI love little knickknacks and dried flowers and pictures (Polaroid are the best) and above all words. Poems, stories, what have you. I love letters!
ReplyDeletebeautiful handwriting oh and friendship bracelets :)
ReplyDeleteJocee! <3 I hope the letter i sent you was one of the ones that made you smile. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love anything in letters: drawings, tea, leaves, souvenirs, paint chips, dried flowers, photos, poems, stories, feathers. But the things that mean the most to me that i keep forever are the things that reflect the person sending me the letter. If what you send me means something you then i will love it even more, because penpals are about making close friends, and if what you send me is personal then its as if you've given a little piece of youself to me so even though we have never met/may never meet {although i hope we will!} we feel like we know each and have a connection no matter how many miles away from each other we are.
P.s whoever sent you that letter, I WANT THEIR HANDWRITING PLEASE AND THANK YOU. ;D
I love getting little pieces of people's hearts - their absolute favorite tea, their favorite quote on the back of their faded, crumpled receipt, and anything else that's special to them.
ReplyDeleteHey, gorgeous. :) In my letters from friends, I love seeing words. But not just any words. Meaningful words. Words that are said with the utmost sincerity and are straight from the heart.
ReplyDeletePictures and long letters! :)
ReplyDeletewait can't we all win this???
ReplyDeleteoh oops just saw what I was supposed to comment. gee I love just anything in snail mail. handwritten letters themselves make me smile. I am quite fond of raspberry tea. ;)
ReplyDeletethis is so cool. i absolutely love handwritten letters!
ReplyDeletelove this post. and your photos.

ReplyDeleteOh this is so lovely! I have a penpal and whenever I receive a letter from her it just makes me smile!
ReplyDeletei love u!!
ReplyDeleteI would just want something in a letter that isn't something cheesy, I would want something that was sincerely from you! something that you feel would be something for a person to receive. Something that could give a boost of confidence, something from the bottom of your heart. <3
ReplyDeleteI love your writing. Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI just love letters in general, but I love getting quotes and Scripture verses that have encouraged the writer, as well as their favorite teas.
